The abstraction of this project was to build a proposition around a piece of Chinese tradition and rewriting or replacing that with current and present individual views. This investigation directed the project into considering the ‘Longevity’ tableware of China. Different design decisions were informed from the secondary research, from the creation of the disposable tableware to the concepts of the new motif, which replaced the traditional patterns. The concluding outcome of
the final work was not to just reflect and conceive what people wanted, but it truly interrogated the exploration of defining what was actually unique to be from Hong Kong.
